BACOLOD City – A man was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.
He was the 37-year-old Ricardo “Johnny” Santurina Jr. of Sitio Bolon, Barangay Santa Cruz Nuevo, Tanjay City.
Police searched Santurina’s house on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Winston Villegas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Dumaguete City dated Dec. 11.
The search operation – led by Inspector Rafael Lorenz Serion – recovered from Santurina’s house a .45-caliber pistol with serial number 274598, a rifle grenade with serial number AVA-0057-85 and a magazine of a. 45-caliber gun with five live bullets.
Santurina was arrested and detained around 6:20 a.m. on Dec. 13, a police report showed./PN
