BACOLOD City – The Calatrava police station in Negros Occidental has yet to identify the gunman in a recent shooting.
Ely Marcellana, 37, of the town’s Barangay Hinab-ongan, was found dead in Barangay Minapasok around 6:02 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1. He sustained several gunshot wounds on his face and head.
Initial police investigation revealed that at around 10:14 p.m. on Nov. 30, Marcellana was driving his motorcycle from Sitio Minauyahan, Barangay Minapasok together with an unidentified backrider.
When they reached Green Hills Street in Barangay Minapasok, Marcellana was allegedly shot by his backrider several times.
Calatrava police recovered two .9mm ammunition at the crime scene. They added that the assailant fled using the victim’s motorcycle./PN
