AKLAN – A man landed in a provincial hospital after he was stabbed during the opening of lights at Kalibo Pastrana Park in Kalibo town over the weekend.
According to Major Frensy Andrade, chief of the Kalibo police station, the victim identified as alias “Ken” sustained a wound on his back.
Andrade said a group of suspects threw stones at the victim and his friends who were drinking near the acacia tree by the stage on Saturday, December 14. The altercation escalated into a commotion, resulting in the stabbing incident.
While the suspect managed to escape and remained at large as of this writing, police have apprehended six individuals involved in the brawl. The six, reportedly from New Washington town, were detained at the Kalibo police station.
The police were still investigating the motive behind the stabbing. They urged witnesses to come forward with any information that could help in identifying and locating the suspect./PN
