ILOILO – A man was stabbed to death by his brother-in-law in Barangay Botong, Oton town.
Victim Rex Posadas, 43, told his brother-in-law, Adolfo Atoy, 41, not to light sparklers on the evening of Dec. 31, 2022. Both being inebriated, an argument ensued.
Oton police said Posadas hit Atoy with a pipe, and the latter retaliated using a knife.
Posadas sustained a stab wound on the body and was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City where he was declared “dead on arrival.”
“Masabad gid man na sila kun makainom kag may mga daan man nga hiligut-anon,” said Police Senior Master Sergeant Eddie Tordesillas of the Oton Municipal Police Station.
The Posadas family is determined to sue Atoy who was detained at the Oton police station./PN
