ILOILO – A 37-year-old man, classified as the No. 6 most wanted person in Iloilo province, was arrested in Barotac Nuevo town at around 9:20 a.m. on Friday, February 6.
The suspect identified by the alias “Lester,” a resident of the town, is wanted for the crime of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A paragraph 1 in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act 8353 (Anti-Rape Act).
Officers of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station (MPS) apprehended the suspect in Barangay Tinori-an by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 68 in PD Monfort North, Dumangas, Iloilo.
The suspect was detained at Barotac Nuevo MPS with no bail recommended for his temporary freedom.
Western Visayas’ top cop, Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, commended the efforts of the Barotac Nuevo police.
