BACOLOD City – Mighty cigarettes worth about P70,000 were recovered in Barangay Lo-ok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

Senior Inspector Roger Pama, municipal deputy police chief, said six boxes containing the allegedly fake cigarettes were confiscated at a checkpoint around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old Rolly Pa-Alisbo of Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental failed to show the police pertinent documents for the transport of the cigarettes.

Pa-Alisbo was detained at the Calatrava police station custodial facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 8293, or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines./PN
