ROXAS City – Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and the Gerry Roxas Foundation donated 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-9) to the city government.
The vaccines arrived yesterday (Oct 28) and was received by Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, Provincial Board Member Thea Faith Reyes and 1st District’s Cong. Emmanuel Billones.
“Ini nga vacccines nga ginhatag sa aton lubos ko gid nga ginapasalamatan kay ini makahatag proteksyon sa aton mga pumoluyo nga nagarisgo adlaw-adlaw para mabuhi ang ila pamilya. Ini makabulig gid sa pagbangon sang aton syudad halin sa krisis,” said Dadivas.
In a statement, Roxas who is a native of Capiz said that in his private capacity, he found ways to help augment the vaccine needs of the city.
Particularly, the donated vaccines are intended for essential workers such as market vendors, tricycle and jeepney drivers, restaurant and parlor workers who go out everyday to work.
