Mar donates more Capiz jabs

ROXAS City – Former senator and Interior secretary Mar Roxas and the Gerry Roxas Foundation (GRF) donated to Capiz province an additional 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The vaccines were delivered on Nov. 25. They were officially received by Vice Gov. James Magbanua, Roxas City administrator Ronald Amigo, Capiz 1st District’s Cong. Emmanuel Billones, Provincial Board member Thea Faith Reyes, and a representative from City Health Office.

According to Roxas City’s Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, these vaccines were intended for priority sectors from in six towns of the 1st District of Capiz.

“Apisar nga wala na sa gobierno, nagapabilin ang pag-ulingag ni Secretary Mar Roxas sa iya kasimanwa kag siya nagabulig agud mapadasig ang pagbangon sang aton ekonomiya sa krisis nga dala sang COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dadivas.

In October, the first batch of Roxas and GRF’s vaccine donations arrived. It was also around 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca.

Roxas, a native of Capiz, previously said that in his private capacity, he would find ways to help augment the vaccine needs of the province and city./PN
