‘Marijuana’ puts Grade 10 student behind bars

ILOILO City – Police nabbed a 20-year-old student in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Purok 2 Poblacion, Pavia, Iloilo.

He was identified as Peter John Po, a Grade 10 student of the Pavia National High School, a police report showed.

Po – resident of Barangay Cabugao Sur, Santa Barbara, Iloilo – was caught after he sold a suspected marijuana stuffed inside a capsule to an undercover cop for P2,000. 

When frisked, Po yielded four more marijuana-filled capsules.

Pavia police station chief Inspector Jojo Tabaloc said they staged the entrapment operation around 9:20 p.m. on Monday.

“He stuffed dried marijuana leaves inside the capsule to hide illegal drugs from the police,” added Tabaloc.

Po was detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him./PN
