SAGAY City – MDM College Inc. emerged as the champion of the Chooks-to-Go SM National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Tournament Silay-Sagay leg over the weekend at the Sagay City Gym.
The team captured the title after a 137-70 domination over Vito National High School (VNHS) in the ‘go hard or go home’ finals match.
John Paul Amante was hailed as the tournament’s MVP after tallying 23 points, while John Paul Sembrano and Willie Fred contributed 22 and 20 markers, respectively, for MDM.
Also, teammates Garry March Jore, Jan Mig Divierte and Joshua Delagao supplied 14 points each, while Kayetan Leonoras contributed 13 markers to help seal the deal.
For the losing team, John Carlo Regarido top-scored with 18 points, while Rogem Sanchez and Mark Angelo Gatingao contributed 13 and 10 markers, respectively, for VNHS.
MDM College Inc. will face San Carlos leg champion Tanon College and Bacolod leg champion Bacolod Tay Tung High School in the regional finals on Feb. 25./PN
