BACOLOD City – Two men were found dead in Calatrava and Candoni towns in Negros Occidental.
The 23-year-old Joey Layson of Sitio Linao, Barangay Marcelo, Candoni had multiple stab and hack wounds on the body.
His neighbors have been suspecting Layson to be slaughtering their domestic animals, including chickens and hogs.
Initial police investigation showed Layson had a drinking binge with three other men.
While on their way home, his companions found Layson to have had one too many drinks and decided to leave him behind.
Layson’s body was found around 12 noon on Nov. 2.
Police have yet to identify his attacker. Investigation was still ongoing.
In Candoni, 42-year-old Floriano “Kawkoy” Mendoza was found dead in a farmhouse he was guarding in Sitio Salawangan, Barangay Payauan around 7:30 on Nov. 2.
Mendoza, a native of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, had multiple stab wounds — including defensive wounds — in the body, police said.
He was a caretaker of the farmhouse owned by Eleuterio Arbolado./PN
