ILOILO City – A woman killed herself in the apartment of her boyfriend in Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district, police said.
Pauline Neodama, 22, of Zulueta Street, Barangay Poblacion, Miag-ao, Iloilo, was found in the room of her boyfriend in Bertiz Apartment at around 6:25 p.m. on Monday.
A red cord was tied around her neck and to the knob of a cabinet, a police report showed.
Her boyfriend, who refused to be identified, removed her from strangulation. Nurses from the neighboring house applied first aid on her.
Responding Iloilo City Emergency Response personnel brought her to Qualimed Hospital.
Dr. Ricardo Parreño pronounced her dead at around 7:17 p.m., the police report showed.
Investigators found a paper that contained an apparent suicide note. Police did not disclose the note’s content.
Officers were still investigating the incident as of this writing. The body of Neodama will undergo autopsy, police said. (Carolyn Jane Abello, trainee reporter/PN)
