THREE years after her Miss Universe stint, Michelle Dee is considering joining the first-ever MGI All Stars, but she does not have a “yes or no” answer at the moment.
Dee said she is still undecided whether to join the Thailand-based pageant, which is the first of its kind under the Miss Grand International sphere. She said that one of the reasons why she’s undecided is that she still “has a lot of questions” about its inaugural edition.
“Am I joining? It’s definitely under consideration,” she said in the “Almost Podcast” interview with Kylie Verzosa on Wednesday, January 7.
“It’s the first edition, and I still have a lot of questions. If the question is, do I want to join? Do I want to represent my country again? Do I feel like there’s fight left in me? Of course, there is, which is why I never say I am closing my doors on my pageant journey,” she continued.
The 2023 Miss Universe Philippines titleholder then clarified that she hasn’t closed her doors on pageantry, but she’s still debating whether to join or not due to the number of factors that will be affected.
“But I don’t have a yes or a no because it is coming so soon, schedules will be affected, and contracts will be affected. It’s more than just the passion of it, but what will be affected in my personal life if I do it,” she said.
Dee acknowledged that MGI All Stars is an “exciting concept” since it features experienced beauty queens who have “something left to give.”
While Dee wants to “redeem herself,” she said that she still needs to make sure that the sacrifices she’ll make are worth it: “I feel like, with how my pageant ended, there was so much controversy that I can’t help but want to redeem that side of my journey.”
Two Filipina queens have been confirmed to join the MGI All Stars finals: Miss International Queen 2022 Fuschia Anne Ravena and reigning Noble Queen of the Universe Alexia Nuñez.
Originally scheduled to take place in February, the global tilt was rescheduled to May 30.
