ILOILO City – Two suspected drug personalities and a minor were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique on October 20, resulting in the recovery of around P986,000 worth of alleged shabu.
Officers of the San Jose police station first caught alias “Jo”, 39, at around 10:15 a.m. in Barangay Malaiba. He yielded 65 grams of suspected shabu.
At 12:51 p.m., antidrug operatives apprehended alias “Jemski”, 37, and a 16-year-old boy, on Turko Street, Barangay 3, after they sold a gram of the said illegal substance to a police poseur buyer. Seized from them were around 80 grams of shabu.
The two suspects were detained at the San Jose police station while the minor was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).
They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
Following the successful antidrug operations, Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Josefino Ligan warned the drug personalities to stop their illegal activity and look for legal work.
“We will continue to run after drug personalities should they refuse to stop,” Ligan added./PN
