BACOLOD City – Misunderstanding was the motive behind a fatal shooting in Sitio Sangay, Barangay Hilub-ang, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, police said.
The 42-year-old resident Diosdado Margaha sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the body.
The suspect is his neighbor Elmer Tordesillas, 48, a police report showed.
Margaha and Tordesillas were having a conversation around 5 p.m. on Saturday, which ended up in an argument.
Tordesillas then fired at Margaha using his .45-caliber pistol and fled.
Margaha was rushed to the Calatrava District Hospital where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Officers from the Calatrava police station arrested Tordesillas in a hot pursuit operation.
Tordesillas was detained at the police station’s lockup cell./PN
