BACOLOD City – A misunderstanding led to the fatal stabbing of a 46-year-old resident of Purok Gumamela, Barangay Binububuhan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Randy Velez Araneta died of multiple stab wounds — on the neck, chest, stomach, and left armpit. He was taken to a hospital in Bago City but was declared “dead on arrival.”

Police Officer 3 Arturo Margallo Jr., homicide investigator, identified the suspect as Araneta’s sister Ramona Araneta Tacunday, 31.

A witness saw the two arguing around 2 p.m. Sunday. Tacunday then lunged at Araneta and repeatedly stabbed him, police said.

Tacunday surrendered to the police. She was detained in the Bago City police station.

Investigation was ongoing./PN
