BACOLOD City – Nine years of hiding are over.
An operation led to the arrest of the 39-year-old rape suspect Gamaciel Gimpayan of Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental in Barangay Tinadtaran, Buenavista, Guimaras.
Gimpayan was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant that Judge Francisco Rodriguez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City issued on June 10, 2008.
Gimapayan’s arrest happened around 5:40 p.m. on Oct 11, a police report showed.
Officers from the Moises Padilla police station, Guimaras Police Provincial Office and the Buenavista police station staged the operation.
Gimpayan was detained at the Moises Padilla police station lockup facility.
The court did not recommend a bail bond for Gimpayan./PN
