ILOILO City – MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) marked its third anniversary as the city’s sole power distributor on Feb. 14 by taking a greener step forward.
MORE Power, in its effort to help nurture the environment, has launched the #DoMORE Initiatives in partnership with the Partners in Power Foundation.
With the theme “With MORE Power comes Great Sustainability”, MORE Power is spearheading several green activities from Feb. 14 to 28, 2022 and these include mangrove and tree planting, releasing fingerlings, and even urban gardening.
In its three years of serving Iloilo City, MORE Power has performed beyond its responsibilities as an electricity distributor.
For one, the power firm made it possible for Iloilo City to enjoy the lowest electricity rate in the country and it even started sourcing 100 percent of its electricity from renewable energy.
For its anniversary activities, MORE Power targets to plant 2,000 trees by the end of 2022.
It will also adopt a new mangrove planting site in coastal areas in Iloilo and help provide abundant quality fishes in the Iloilo River.
Furthermore, promoting urban gardening and providing the Ilonggos with cheap and healthy farm produce are part of the initiatives to be undertaken.
MORE Power vowed to sustain all of these projects. It also encourages the public to join them in achieving the goal.
“You and I have the power to help our planet. As long as we work together, our future will be brighter and greener,” MORE Power said in a statement./PN
