BACOLOD City – The mother of the suspected leader of a notorious robbery group in Negros Occidental was caught in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.
Police Station 2 commander Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias said his men arrested Belinda Cuadra, mother of Aki Cuadra Robbery Group suspected leader Arnold “Aki” Cuadra, after she sold shabu to an undercover officer yesterday.
Recovered from Belinda’s possession were three sachets of shabu, Villarias said.
The Police Station 2 head added that Cuadra and her husband Noli are on their illegal drug watch list.
They were considered as “high-value targets” in Western Visayas, Villarias stressed.
Prior to the operation, Villarias revealed that he had talked with Cuadra to convince her to help the police by convincing her son to surrender.
Cuadra told him that she will try, Villarias added.
Aki Cuadra Robbery Group is responsible for a series of holdup and motornapping incidents in Negros Occidental, police said.
Other members of the robbery group were already arrested. Arnold, on the other hand, was still at large./PN
