MANILA – Motolite Power Builders continued its winning ways in the 2019 PVL Open Conference. It defeated Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers, 25-14, 25-18, 25-23, at the San Juan Arena.

Myla Pablo tallied 15 points, including 14 attacks on Wednesday night while Diana Carlos added 14 markers, with three service aces and three blocks.

The Power Builders improved to 3-1 win-loss slate.

After easily winning the first two sets, the Power Builders were tested in the third frame. They trailed 9-15 before Pablo and Carlos took turns on the offensive end to force a deadlock at 18-all.

The game was still tied at 23-all when Carlos surged the Power Builders ahead at 24-23 with an off-the-block hit before Maria Lina Molde had an off-the-block hit of her own to wrap up the match.

“The first and second sets were convincing. Now, the third set, we started slow,” said Power Builders head coach Godfrey Okumu. “We seemed to be making an effort in things that we were supposed to do effortlessly.”

Aklanon hitter Dell Palomata tallied 14 points, off 10 attacks, three blocks, and an ace, while Angel Antipuesto managed seven attacks and three blocks, notching nine markers for the Lady Jet Spikers which dropped to 0-4.

Meanwhile, BanKo-Perlas Lady Spikers pulled off another straight set triumph after a 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 sweep over Choco Mucho Flying Titans.

Kathy Bersola collected five blocks and hammered down 10 attacks for 15 points./PN
