BACOLOD City – Motorcycle-riding shooters killed a native of Calatrava, Negros Occidental in Barangay McKinley, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, police said.
Roberto Balongcas of Barangay Pantao, Calatrava sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the body.
He was taken to the Guihulngan City District Hospital where he was pronounced “dead on arrival,” a police report showed.
As of this writing police were still looking into the motive in the shooting that happened along a national highway at around 8:10 p.m. on Monday yet.
Police have also yet to identify the suspects, who sped toward an unknown direction after the shooting.
A neighbor in Calatrava – 46-year-old trisikad driver Ernesto Telmoso who was temporarily staying in Barangay Looc Oblation, Guihulngan City – identified the victim, police said./PN
