ILOILO City – A motorcycle crashed into a pickup vehicle yesterday along the circumferential road in Barangay Tacas, Jaro district.
Arnor Lastimoso Jr., 20, of Centennial Homes at Alta Tierra Village in Jaro was driving the Honda XRM (plate number: 8101-FU).
He sustained injuries on the right knee, wrist, right cheek, forehead, and left elbow.
The Nissan Frontier (plate number: PRO 670) was a National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) service vehicle.
The driver, 33-year-old Marvin Cuarte Bo. Obrero, Lapuz district, was on his way from Barangay Sambag, Jaro to Lapuz when the crash happened around 11 a.m.
Cuarte was trying to overtake a 10-wheeler truck and failed to see the incoming motorcycle, he told Panay News.
“Nag-attempt ko overtake sang 10-wheeler, te ang 10-wheeler naglapaw man sa linya,” the NGCP driver said.
“Ginkabig ko man (ang manibela) kay kon wala ko naglikaw, masuhot ako sa truck. Wala ko nakita ang single (motorcycle). Igo ko makita ara na sa lapit,” said Cuarte.
Police said the motorcycle was damaged on its front, while the pickup was damaged on the right front bumper, headlight assembly, hood, panel, fender, and radiator.
