ILOILO – A 31-year-old driver died after his motorcycle collided with a van in Barangay Mambatad, Miag-ao town around 12:01 p.m. yesterday.
The victim identified as alias “John” suffered severe head injuries. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital by the attending physician.
Police Major Richard Lao, chief of the Miag-ao Municipal Police Station, said John overtook another motorcycle ahead of him and collided with an oncoming van driven by alias “Ron”.
Lao added that the van driver tried to avoid John’s motorcycle but he, too, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to fell on its side.
Ron sustained minor body injuries. He was recuperating at the hospital./PN
