MY DEAR Reader,
As we begin the New Year, let me bless you with more good luck and good fortune. May you have more love, great wealth, good health, fruitful work, lots of fun, and fulfilling relationships in 2017. Just as I have been blessed with everything I need, and that sense of contentment and fulfillment, in these past few years, so do I wish that you will receive and discover such amazing graces yourself.
We live in very exciting times. Because of technological advancements, we are becoming more and more unlimited in our opportunities, and limitless in our potentials. And so I wish you much self-confidence to do great things even if others seem to do nothing but pull you down. In the end, you need to be a little of a free-spirit like me, undaunted by society’s pressure.
You need to be your own kind of person — productive and responsible. I want you to be great in whatever you do; but I want you, most of all, to be responsible and caring. I want you to care about your own self, your family, your relationships, your country, and your planet. Whatever it is that you do, let it always glorify, and magnify, these five; for the passion and gift of a free-spirit always grow when they serve to inspire others into greatness.
Markers like the New Year are a wonderful reminder that life begins again and again. It is like the morning that clears the slate for a new beginning. And so, depending on how greatly you have lived last year, you may make drastic lifestyle changes this year, or you may just build up on what you have achieved in 2016.
I have no more new year’s resolutions to make. Only a renewal of commitment and vows. As we begin 2017, you can rely on me to build up on my reputation as a man of holy words. (Holy because my words are honorable and true.) I wish I could say that I want to be a man of few chosen words, but I know that it is not going to happen. So, I will simply continue to put value in my words — that they may remain true and truthful, just and uncompromising, honorable, trustworthy, and reliable.
Of course, I will try to be kind; and most of the time, I am very kind. But this year, as I consolidate my power and influence, I will not anymore tolerate ignorant behaviors towards me, my achievements, and my sense of well-being.
In the past, I have been very tolerant of critics and detractors, and the lowlifes who have self-assumed a distorted sense of power because of their Facebook accounts, and other social media outings. Well, a line must be drawn to separate real celebrities like me, and cheap wannabes like those degenerates.
I will not be trampled upon. Not anymore. You criticize Peter Solis Nery irresponsibly, you die. Or at least, you die defending your ignorance and stupid arrogance. I am Mr. Nice Guy no more. I owe it to my fans and supporters, and the many people who love me, to defend my honor and dignity at all times.
I am so freaking tired of being called buang, delusional, or egotistical. Sixteen years of writing for the Ilonggo newspapers, and many people still don’t get it. It’s really quite very sad. Pathetic. If I were truly insane, how did I manage to stay in this business for so long? Why are people still reading me? And I know that they read me, because they continue to react to everything I write. And most telling of all, they continue to call me crazy. Now, who is crazier: the one called the insane, or the demented people who continue to patronize him?
As for being delusional, with a supposed delusion of grandeur, well, at least, my delusion is fed by real awards, by real money, by real people who accord me with such respect and esteem that is not even given to the likes of Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. Whatever honors and recognitions I claim, you know that they are true. You can always google them; and you don’t even have to rely on my Facebook posts alone, unlike most of my detractors’ supposed achievements. (I mean, you bought a siopao at Roberto’s and you call that achievement?)
Now, as for being egocentric, well, that’s a little hard to deny, so I’m not denying it. But, if you think that I am “of the habit of valuing everything only in reference to my personal interest” (yes, that’s the dictionary meaning of ‘egotistic’), then, poor and ignorant you, for not being aware and informed of my altruistic endeavors and sensibilities. While some of my philanthropies and charities are publicized, there still remain a lot of my random kindness and secret Santa deeds and activities that remain private.
So, yes, I am still here, I’m real, and I don’t steal from anyone unlike most politicians and all drug lords, or some teachers who shoot down their students before the students could fly.
I am Peter Solis Nery, and I am a proud sponsor of the word “Inspire.” Have a wonderful 2017!/PN
