LONDON – Myanmar’s ambassador here spent the night in his car after he was locked out of his embassy.
Kyaw Zwar Minn said he was told that he is no longer the country’s representative and staff were asked to leave the building by Myanmar’s military attaché on Wednesday night.
Myanmar’s military seized power in a coup on Feb. 1, sparking weeks of protests and escalating violence.
In March, he called for the release of the ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi. He said Myanmar was “divided” and could be at risk of civil war.
He maintained that his remarks were not “betraying the country”.(BBC)
