Negrense spikers sweep WVPRISAA volley crowns

NOPSSCEA stamped its class by sweeping the secondary boys and girls volleyball titles in the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet 2019 on Monday at University of St. La Salle gym in Bacolod City.

Led by Erika Jin Deloria and Shane Carmona, the NOPSSCEA bagged the secondary girls volleyball championship by defeating ILOPRISAA, 26-24, 25-21, 25-12, in the finals.

Deloria and Carmona took turns on the offensive end in the tightly-contested first two sets before other players in Joan Marie Monares and Alyssa Bertolano jumped off a strong third set surge to complete the straight set win.

Also members of the team were Kiesha Bedonia, Beatrice Decena, Katherine Shane Cortez, Rhean Almendralejo, Kyrzten Annikha Cabasac, Aurea Claudette Alvero, Dya Mejos, Gwen Banas, and Nicolei Galvan.

NOPSSCEA also grabbed the championship in the secondary boys volleyball event after defeating ILOPRISAA in straight sets, 25-23, 26-24, 25-20, in the finals.

Jian Matthew Salarzon was hailed as the Most Valuable Player with Kristoffer John Salvatierra taking home the best setter award and Laurence Alaban as the best opposite spiker.
