MANILA – Malacañang declared Nov. 13 to 15 special nonworking days in Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga to give way to the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Meetings.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 332 on Oct. 23.
“Various activities directly connected with the 31st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, to be attended by ASEAN Leaders and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, will be held in the National Capital Region and Clark Field, Pampanga,” read the proclamation.
The areas will be directly affected by the said activities, it said.
The Philippines, one of the founders of the 10-state regional bloc, is this year’s ASEAN chair.
Earlier, Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella confirmed that United States President Donald Trump will grace the ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings.
“President Trump will join other world leaders who will attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or East Asian Summit in the Philippines,” Abella said./PN
