BACOLOD City – Police are searching for the suspect in shooting a 24-year-old resident of Barangay Handumanan.
Johnrey Besina, 24, was confined in the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. He sustained a gunshot wound on the abdomen.
His attacker was identified only as a certain “Joebert.”
Besina and his friends were on their way to a wake when the suspect approached him and asked, “Ikaw si (Are you) Tata?” before firing his sulpak, an improvised 12-gauge shotgun, investigation showed.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Joebert remains at large as of this writing. A manhunt operation is under way, said Senior Inspector Ramel Bustamante, Police Station 10 chief./PN
