BACOLOD City – A woman died and seven others including four police officers were injured when their vehicle fell into a ravine in Purok Tuburan, Barangay Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB), Negros Occidental, on March 29.
Initial investigation revealed that the Toyota Avanza from Bacolod was on its way to San Carlos City when it figured in an accident.
Don Salvador Benedicto police said upon reaching a curved portion of the national highway, the vehicle overshot the road and fell into a 50-meter ravine at around 3 p.m.
Alias “Daisy” was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center but was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
Seven other passengers – four cops of the Bacolod City Police Office, a 24-year-old woman, and two minors – sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies.
They were recuperating at the hospital, police said./PN
