BACOLOD City – An alleged member of the Rondoy robbery group was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok Pili, Barangay 6.

Police Station 2 commander Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias and his men arrested the 27-year-old Teddy Marc Carmona while the latter was having a “pot session” in his house, together with the alleged Rondoy robbery group leader Alex Barredo and a certain “Jugjug,” a police report showed.

Barredo and Jugjug, upon seeing the officers, fired at them and escaped at the back door of the house, the report further stated.

Barredo was previously affiliated with the notorious Arnold “Aki” Cuadra robbery group, police said.

Carmona’s father, 62-year-old Rudy, and companion Jomar Vargas, 35, were also arrested.

Villarias said they have been closely monitoring the Rondoy robbery group, which he said was responsible for some holdup, motornapping and armed robbery incidents in the city.

Recovered from the house were shabu valued at P10,000, a .38-caliber revolver with five bullets, P500 marked money, P70 cash, a motorcycle, a helmet, facemasks, and gloves.

The Carmonas and Vargas were detained at the Police Station 2 custodial facility./PN
