OPM icon April Boy Regino has passed away, his family said Sunday. He was 51.
His wife, Madel, confirmed the sad news to ABS-CBN News over the phone, while their son, JC, uploaded on his Facebook page a photo of a lit candle with an ‘IDOL’ cap image.
Dennis Regino Magdaraog in real life, April Boy is known for his trademark caps as he popularized jukebox hits “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin,” “Paano Ang Puso Ko,” and “Umiiyak Ang Puso” in the 1990s.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009 and had diabetes that affected his vision. (ABS-CBN)
