KELLY Oubre Jr. scored a go-ahead basket with 8.7 seconds remaining as Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a 102–100 victory over Boston Celtics in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Tuesday night (Wednesday in the Philippines) at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Oubre’s decisive layup came off his own rebound after teammate Justin Edwards missed a three-pointer, breaking a 100-all deadlock and securing the win despite the absence of stars Joel Embiid and Paul George.
Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia with 21 points, Edwards poured in a team-high 22 on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting, including five triples, while Quentin Grimes, Andre Drummond and Oubre had 18, 14, and 12, respectively.
Boston, which led by eight midway through the fourth quarter, saw its advantage slip away after Edwards drained three consecutive three-pointers in just over a minute to push the Sixers ahead, 93–92.
Jaylen Brown scored 24 points for the Celtics and tied the game at 100 after hitting one of two free throws with 33.5 seconds left. But on the ensuing possession, Oubre’s hustle proved decisive.
Following Oubre’s basket, the Celtics had a final chance, but Drummond stripped the ball from Derrick White, forcing a desperate heave from near midcourt that failed to hit the rim, Neemias Queta couldn’t convert on a putback before time expired.
Meanwhile, Chet Holmgren had a perfect shooting performance as the defending champions and league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder rolled past Golden State Warriors 126-102.
Holmgren, the former top overall pick, had a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. He made all nine of his field goals, both of his 3-pointers and all three of his free throw attempts.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 28 points in three quarters, Isaiah Joe scored 18 points and Ajay Mitchell added 17 for the defending champion Thunder, who improved to 11-1.
Jonathan Kuminga led the Warriors with 13 points. Stephen Curry, who missed the previous three games due to illness, struggled offensively with 11 points on 4-for-13 shooting.
In other results, New York Knicks prevailed over Memphis Grizzlies, 133-120, while Toronto Raptors pulled off a 119-109 triumph against Brooklyn Nets./PN
