MANILA – Some 5,355 police officers will be deployed to secure Metro Manila during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Barangay tanods, security guards, and volunteers will assist police officers, for a total of 19,289 security personnel, according to National Capital Region Police Office director Oscar Albayalde.
“Coordination has been made with local government units and other government agencies,” said Albayalde. “Security patrols will be conducted in residential areas.”
“We will also establish assistance hubs in all ports, bus terminals, churches, vital installations, and other places of convergence identified by our field commanders,” Albayalde added.
Skeletal deployment started on Monday while full deployment was completed on Tuesday. All police units will be on duty until Nov. 2. (PNA)
