SAN JOSE, Antique – The National Food Authority (NFA) has delivered 7,465 bags of rice across the province for the supplemental feeding program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The DSWD has allocated P9,331,250 for the program this school year, according to information officer Lorelyn Bayog.

A total of 19,439 daycare pupils will benefit from the feeding program, she added.

The bags of rice were delivered in two tranches: one in August and the other, in October.

Different local government units, through their child development workers, facilitated the receipt of the bags.

Meanwhile, the NFA is still sustaining its palay procurement program to ensure that the province will have enough buffer rice stocks, especially during lean months.

Farmers’ organizations in the province are encouraged to sell their stocks to the NFA to avail themselves of the agency’s incentives. (PIA/PN)
