AKLAN — An 18-year-old fugitive in Kalibo town was arrested after a manhunt operation on Monday afternoon, Oct. 26, in Barangay Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan.
Police said the suspect identified as alias “Cell,” a resident of the town, is facing murder charges. He was tagged as the No. 1 most wanted in the municipal level.
His arrest was carried out by officers of the Kalibo Municipal Police Station (MPS) based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 3, Sixth Judicial Region in Kalibo. The court recommended no bail for his temporary freedom.
The suspect is currently detained at the Kalibo MPS and is set to be turned over to the court concerned.
Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 6 director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño lauded the operating team, emphasizing that the arrest reflects the police force’s commitment to serving court orders and bringing fugitives to justice.
“Walang puwang sa ating mga komunidad ang pagtatago upang makaiwas sa pananagutan sa ilalim ng batas,” stated Tuaño. “Ang pag-aresto sa mga wanted person, lalo na sa mga nahaharap sa mabibigat na kaso gaya ng murder, ay malinaw na mensahe na hindi titigil ang PRO-6 sa pagtupad sa tungkulin nitong ipatupad ang batas at tiyaking ang bawat akusado ay maihaharap sa hukuman.”/PN
