ILOILO City – A series of antidrug operations targeting suspected drug lord Richard Prevendido and relatives led to the recovery of shabu worth P1.3 million yesterday in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) carried out the operations.
Prevendido’s house was raided, then those of his nephews Bonie Prevendido Gregori and Ednie Jimena. The three were not in their respective houses but sachets of shabu were recovered.
According to PDEA Region 6’s deputy regional director Levi Ortiz, they found half a million pesos worth of shabu in Richard’s house.
The search warrant was issued by Judge Gloria Medina of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 29.
From Gregori’s house, PDEA recovered shabu worth P250 thousand. Judge Guilji Delfin-Lim of RTC, Branch 22 issued the search warrant.
From Jimena’s house, on the other hand, PDEA seized P300 thousand. The search warrant was issued by Judge Loida Maputol of RTC, Branch 28.
Bonie is the son of Barangay Bakhaw captain Remia Prevendido Gregori and is ranked No. 2 in the Mandurriao police station’s list of suspected drug personalities.
Jimena is No. 5 in the list.
The barangay captain was not present to witness the raids. Her whereabouts were unknown yesterday.
Prior to the raids, Ortiz said PDEA operatives busted Richard’s other nephews – Troy John Prevendido and Ariel Prevendido and their three companions Rodolfo Pasan, Joe Vincent Suelon and Ma. Beauty Dela Cruz. Troy John and Ariel, however, managed to flee.
