ILOILO – Police units under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized a combined P12-million worth of shabu in seven months of operation.
They were also able to arrest 93 drug personalities within such period (January to July).
The coronavirus pandemic has not hampered his men’s anti-illegal drugs campaign, said Police Colonel Paul Kenneth Lucas, IPPO director.
The police conducted 71 operations or an average of 10 every month.
“We remain focused on our goal of making Iloilo drug-free,” said Lucas.
The Pavia municipal police station recorded the highest value in recovered shabu – P8.4 million. It also arrested 25 drug personalities.
Due to this feat, the Pavia police station headed by Police Major Jojo Tabaloc was cited as No. 1 in Region 6 in the campaign against illegal drugs during the recent 119th Police Service Anniversary.
The Santa Barbara municipal police station posted the second highest value in recovered shabu – P2.5 million.
The Leganes municipal police station came in third place with its combined P1-million shabu haul.
“We will never stop running after those who seek to destroy our people. Illegal drugs are a menace to society. They rob victims of a better tomorrow,” said Lucas.
Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, Police Regional Office 6 director, congratulated his men for working to arrest drug suspects.
“We will intensify our campaign against illegal drugs despite the pandemic. We will not allow anyone to engage in illegal drugs,” he said./PN
