ILOILO – Police arrested a 32-year-old man classified as a high-value individual and confiscated around 416 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2,823,292 during a late-night buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion Zone 2, Estancia town on September 21.
Authorities identified the suspect by the alias “Dave,” single, unemployed, and a resident of the same barangay where the operation took place at around 11:09 p.m.
Police said the suspect was placed under surveillance after law enforcers received intelligence reports regarding his involvement in local drug trafficking.
Upon validating the information, operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Estancia Municipal Police Station, under the leadership of officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant Adrian Baligod, conducted the operation through an undercover transaction worth P20,000.
Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Police Colonel Bayani M. Razalan commended the operating team for the significant haul.
“This accomplishment demonstrates the value of focused and sustained information gathering and validation, and the continued support of our communities in the fight against illegal drugs,” Razalan said.
The suspect remained in police custody and will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
