ANTIQUE – Authorities confiscated over P400,000 worth of illegal drugs from a jobless man during an antidrug operation in Barangay Poblacion 2, Hamtic town over the weekend.
The suspect, identified as alias “Nene,” 35, single, and a resident of the town’s Barangay Malandog, was caught at around 4:24 a.m. on July 19 with five plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 65 grams and approximately valued at P455,000, and buy-bust money.
The operation was carried out by joint operatives of the Antique Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Antique Provincial Office, and Hamtic Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The suspect, tagged as a high-value target, was detained at the Hamtic MPS. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
