ILOILO — Three individuals, including a married couple, were arrested in Barangay Malusgod, Pototan town after police recovered suspected shabu valued at around P578,000.
Police Major Bryan I. Alamo of the Pototan MPS identified the primary target as 45-year-old alias “Gref.” Also arrested were his wife, alias “Ycon,” 44, and an accomplice identified as alias “Wating” from Barangay Lopez Jaena Ward. Police classified Ycon and Wating as newly identified street-level drug personalities.
Pototan police said Gref was under surveillance for five months before the buy-bust operation on January 30. Authorities alleged the suspects sourced their illegal drug supply from Iloilo City for distribution within Pototan.
Recovered from the suspects were approximately 85 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P578,000. All three suspects are currently detained at the Pototan MPS and face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Police Colonel Bayani M. Razalan, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), commended the Pototan MPS for their success in neutralizing a high-value suspect and two street-level targets.
“This operation represents a unified front against the proliferation of illegal drugs in our province,” Razalan said. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to the community for their unwavering support and trust in our Ilonggo police.”/PN
