BACOLOD City – More than P600,000 worth of cash and assorted items were stolen from a department store in Barangay Progreso, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Police have arrested four suspects. Two of whom were minors. Officers turned them over to municipal social workers.
The other two were Romeo Cajulao Hermoso, 23, of Barangay Santo Rosario, Binalbagan and Jimmy Francisco Sarad, 18, of Barangay Enclaro of the same town. They were detained at the Binalbagan police station.
The robbery of Sherie Anne’s department store was discovered at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Complainant Jade Flores Chua, 39, told police the suspects barged into the store by destroying the rollup door and manipulated the security camera to avoid detection.
Among those stolen from the store were P200,000 worth of P1,000 bills and P34,500 worth of coins, assorted boxer shorts worth P540, 47 watches worth P376,000, five pairs of sandals worth P500, assorted canned goods worth P500, and cigarette packs worth P500, police said./PN
