P80-K reward for arrest of rape, murder suspects

BACOLOD City – A total of P80,000 reward was set to whoever could give information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the rape-slay of a 10-year-old girl in Barangay San Miguel, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The local Barangay Council setup a P50,000 reward with Murcia mayor Gerry Rojas adding P30,000, municipal police station chief Major Robert Dejucos said.

Dejucos added the reward will help solve the case as he admitted they were having difficulty in identifying the suspects.

He said two persons of interest were invited to their station, as they wait for the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test results.

The victim, who was in Grade 5, was found dead in a sugarcane field on Oct. 30.

A “post mortem” examination revealed she died of lacerations on her hymen, broken ribs, damaged liver, and blunt trauma on her chest and abdomen./PN
