ILOILO City – Police arrested four high-value drug suspects who yielded around P884,000 worth of suspected shabu in two separate buy-bust operations in this city on Wednesday night, July 23.
Officers of the Iloilo City Police Station 2 (ICPS 2) arrested alias “Nonoy” at 9:45 p.m. in Zone 3, Barangay Railway, La Paz district.
The 45-year-old freelance electrician was caught with seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 50 grams and valued at P340,000. Also recovered were buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.
In another operation at around 10:04 p.m. in Zone 6, Barangay Boulevard, Molo district, three suspects were apprehended – aliases “Brando”, 41, a laborer; “Suzette”, 50, a cook; and “Kanig”, 24, all residents of the said district.
Joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 4 seized 15 plastic sachets containing alleged shabu with an estimated street value of P544,000, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
All four suspects were detained. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
