ROXAS City – Parents of the 16-year-old boy who escaped the Puluy-an sang Pagpalangga Crisis Center in Barangay Inzo Arnaldo Village turned over the minor to the center yesterday.
Barangay officials assisted the turnover. One of them said the boy ran away because he “missed his family so much.”
It was also the barangay officials who advised the family to bring the boy back under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The boy was caught with Felicia Alegre, 21, in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Angub, Cuartero, Capiz on Feb. 27.
Alegre was detained while the boy was turned over to the CSWDO.
The boy, however, ran away from the CSWDO on March 6 by passing on the roof of the center along with another boy.
The other boy was earlier turned over to the Crisis Center, also by his parents.
Meanwhile, Crisis Center staffer Lorelie Suelo said the center is not designed to house minors caught in drug operations.
She added that “it is high time for the provincial government to put up a drug rehabilitation facility for minors.”/PN
