SEVEN members of the Taekwondo Association of Passi City (TAPC) bagged a medal each in the Visayas Cluster Taekwondo Championship at SM City Bacolod.
They accounted for six gold medals and a silver to finish the tournament on Sunday on second place overall, according to Passi City Sports Development Officer III Randy Palomaria.
Leigh Yvaine Cia, Allamelech Jannu Palmares, and siblings John Raymart and Franzen Mae Palec each bagged a gold medal in the novice grade school category. Nhelbhrent Noserale settled for a silver medal.
Princess Neferteri Prado and Mark Ryan Landeza also captured gold medals in novice cadet girls and novice junior boys, respectively.
Palomaria told Panay News the Ben Capadosa-coached TAPC team’s participation in the one-day tournament was not walk in a park, with the jins facing tough foes from Cebu, Bacolod and Dumaguete cities.
“We are glad with our stint here since we only sent seven [participants] and all of them won medals,” said Palomaria. “It was a great achievement for the TAPC to finish runner-up overall here.”
“We are also thankful to the TAPC, especially coach Ben Capadosa, president Janice Jennifer Palmares and treasurer Pinky Cia for building this team,” he added./PN
