ILOILO City – Why did he shoot her? He wouldn’t say.
A 20-year-old woman had been shot dead in Barangay Buyo, Passi City.
Edralyn Carbon died of a gunshot wound on the left portion of her back.
Police identified the suspect as her live-in partner, 24-year-old Joeber Baluntong.
Baluntong admitted to shooting Carbon but refused to disclose his motive, the Passi City police said.
The suspect was detained at the Passi City police station lockup cell after turning himself in.
Superintendent Norberto Delmas, Passi City police chief, said the couple were inside their house at around 9 p.m. on March 16 when their relatives heard a gunshot.
Carbon’s mother Remleyn checked to see where it came from and found her daughter sustaining a gunshot wound and a gun-wielding Baluntong running away, Delmas said.
Baluntong surrendered to the local police after several hours, Delmas added./PN
