BACOLOD City – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas and Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) dismantled what they suspected was a drug den in the city’s Barangay 2.
Police also arrested several suspects – Jose Sarno, Mary Jellyn Sarno, Alvin Delos Reyes Macaranas, Jheyvee Banico Bunda, and Jose Jay Ruña Sarno.
Anti-drug operatives searched the place and recovered a total of 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at P102,000.
Authorities also recovered suspected drug paraphernalia, a pair of scissor, and the buy-bust money.
The suspects face charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
A total of 3,561 out of 4,051 barangays in Western Visayas have so far been cleared of illegal drugs based on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as of May this year.
Hopefully PDEA will reach its target for a genuine drug-cleared and drug-free Western Visayas, pointed out by PDEA-6 director Alex Tablate./PN
