BACOLOD City – The ruling Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) will welcome its new members today at the covered gym of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and Bureau of Internal Revenue deputy commissioner Clint Aranas will lead the oath-taking.
PDP-Laban will also conduct a training-seminar from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the same day prior to the oath-taking.
The same activities will be held in Victorias City and the 3rd District of Negros Occidental.
From Bacolod alone, about 3,000 are expected to attend the oath-taking, said Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
Leonardia, who organized the event, said he also invited Rep. Alfredo Benitez (Negros Occidental, 3rd District) and Senate president Aquilino Pimentel.
Meanwhile, Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he will not attend ceremony.
Marañon has been with the PDP-Laban after he joined the party a few months ago./PN
