BACOLOD City – The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. committed to release around P1.8 billion to various healthcare institutions across Western Visayas through the Interim Reimbursements Mechanism (IRM).
Cong. Greg Gasataya said the PhilHealth board of directors and top officials signified before several members of the House of Representatives to release the IRM fund to PhilHealth-accredited hospitals in Western Visayas, either private or government-owned.
“During the House panel hearing on Aug. 17, it was shown in the records that only hospitals in Western Visayas have not yet received the IRM,” the solon revealed.
Gasataya said that about P41 million from the said allocation would be for the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in this city.
He also said the fund will be released once hospitals complied with all the necessary requirements.
“The CLMMRH submitted their requirements to PhilHealth last March but the facility did yet receive the fund,” Gasataya lamented.
The House of Representatives on Tuesday resumed its investigation into the alleged “widespread corruption” in PhilHealth.
