ILOILO City – A pickup vehicle crashed against a tree along the highway in Barangay Cagamutan Norte, Leganes, Iloilo yesterday.
The driver, 27-year-old John Michael Lim of Jalandoni Street, Zarraga town, was unhurt.
A police report stated that the incident happened at around 6:45 a.m.
Bound for Banate town, Lim was negotiating the highway from Jaro district when his black Mitsubishi Strada (temporary plate number: 062008-14-106) almost hit a tricycle running the opposite direction on its lane.
Lim swerved the pickup to the other lane but lost control of the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to hit an ipil-ipil tree, the police report showed.
The Strada was damaged on the rear bumper and left side mirror, and incurred scratches and dents on the front fender and right side.
The front fog light and the rear reflector were broken while the front bumper was partially detached, police said./PN
